چکیده
Abstract Background Cardiovascular heart disease is the leading cause of mortality worldwide, with rupture or thrombosis an atherosclerotic plaque being main reason behind acute coronary syndrome. It has already been established that morphology plaques determine their stability. A lipid rich lesion a thin fibrous cap more prone to compared solid lesions. In PROSPECTII study we used Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) identify in arteries; NIRS-derived core burden index (LCBI) IVUS-derived (PB) identified caused adverse cardiovascular events. Purpose Our aim find biomarkers associated LCBI PB, understand development vulnerable plaques. Methods 902 patients were enrolled this after successful percutaneous intervention (PCI). combined NIRS-IVUS catheter was then analyze approximately 200m arteries. Blood samples for biomarker analysis taken before PCI procedure plasma levels 182 proteins assessed using novel method measuring proximity extension assay. Adjusted linear regression models calculated between outcomes interest, followed by false discovery rate (FDR) correction. Results We found 24 28 cut off two tailed P value <0.05. An overlap 8 could be seen groups. After adjusting values FDR, Angiopoeitin like 3 (ANGPTL3) retained its association LCBI, Interleukin 18 receptor 1 (IL18R1) colony stimulating factor (CSF-1) burden. Conclusion able different patterns ANGPTL3 shown only have not lesions which further supports role Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: Private company. MicroRNAs as biomarkers associated with bladder cancer
Bladder cancer is the fifth most common cancer with significant morbidity and mortality. Recently, numerous studies demonstrated that microRNAs are emerging as diagnostic biomarkers for bladder cancer. Specific miRNA profiles have been identified for several samples from patients with bladder cancer. MicroRNAs are noncoding RNA molecules of approximately 23 nucleotides that play important roles...
متن کاملAdiponectin and vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques.
High-risk plaques that are vulnerable to rupture demonstrate distinct morphological characteristics. They are differentiated from the lesions responsible for stable coronary artery disease by their large necrotic cores, thin-inflamed fibrous caps, and positive remodeling. Adiponectin is an adipocytokine that is reduced in obesity and type 2 diabetes. Hypoadiponectinemia has been associated with...
متن کاملAssociation of Lipoprotein-Associated Phospholipase A2 with Characteristics of Vulnerable Coronary Atherosclerotic Plaques
PURPOSE Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A₂ (Lp-PLA₂) is an inflammatory enzyme expressed in atherosclerotic plaques. We investigated the association of circulating Lp-PLA₂ with characteristics of vulnerable coronary atherosclerotic plaques. MATERIALS AND METHODS We recruited 113 patients with either unstable angina (UA, n=59) and stable angina (SA, n=54) by coronary angiography. Thirty-s...

متن کاملMathematical models for vulnerable plaques: MPI
A plaque is an accumulation and swelling in the artery walls and typically consists of cells, cell debris, lipids, calcium deposits and fibrous connective tissue. A person is likely to have many plaques inside his/her body even if they are healthy. However plaques may become “vulnerable”, “high-risk” or “thrombosis-prone” if the person engages in a high-fat diet and does not exercise regularly....
